I built Find X Calculator around a simple idea: a useful answer should be inspectable, not just plausible.
What the tool is for
The calculator focuses on one-variable algebra. It supports defined forms of linear, quadratic, absolute-value, rational, and square-root equations, then shows the solving path and checks numeric answers against the original input.
Why I show the work
When I check algebra, the final number is only part of the job. I want to see which transformation produced it, whether a denominator restriction was respected, and whether a radical introduced an extraneous root. That is why steps and verification are separate from the answer.
Graph, LaTeX, and photo input
The graph plots the two sides as a visual cross-check. Common LaTeX is normalized and previewed with MathML. Photo OCR is deliberately treated as transcription, not mathematics: it fills the input first so you can review the recognized equation before solving.

Evan Li is the pen name I use as the creator and editor of Find X Calculator. I build the site as an independent math-tool project and focus on the parts I want to see when I check algebra myself: the transformation steps, domain restrictions, exact and decimal forms, substitution checks, and a graph when it adds useful context. I also use reproducible edge cases to improve the solver when I find a mistake.
